the keeper of the waves

a past life

every thick, heavy drop
of this roaring Irish blood
thirsts to be swallowed
into emerald pastures

eyes for miles
and i am captured

fresh calm temple
you mercy breeze

oversized hearts
and he's

dancing with me
in front of our friends
wooden walls with knots
and bends

your raspy whisper in my ear
a peasant turned princess
remember the year?

no shame, no guilt, no nerves, no fear
the sky, your hunger
minds are clear

in the deep
bodhrán drum i drowned
but that is where i
found my crown

i couldn't afford a dress
in town, so that boy
covered me
like a gown

soft breath
on each other's skins

a fingertip made of pearl

dip me in your needles
and pins

let my urge for you unfurl
let it blossom the day
before you die
my will is strong, my knees are not
my heart, it races
and yet you lie
bare and naked and

about to rot
by a thousand years, my love
was late
Kintyre, i will always wait
you buried
his bones under the gate

Kintyre,
i will
always
wait
