sand dunes and fumes
your eyes were granite and your flaws were rocks
illuminated by orange clouds as the gauze unwound
yes, you were flawed but you could listen like a hound
they were orange because of the city lights shooting
jumping up to greet them, we were kissing and looting
at midnight and at one a.m., please pass me my pen
i'm about to boil over and melt an alchemist's gem
and bundles of ratted hair roll down across your cracked complexion
when we were so far beyond each other's tastes and perception
i tried to ask you how to get out of this long, dirty alley
i tried to show you the mountains from the flooded valley
you are my engine but you can't take the wheel or peel my tires
rings fit and seatbelts stretch but wires spark and start our fire
